Prior to the photo call, images of the star taken during his red carpet debut alongside wife Rita Wilson appeared to show Hanks having a tense conversation with an employee
Since then, both his wife, Rita Wilson, and the employee in question, Vincent Chapalain, both shut down theories that an altercation ensued involving the A-list couple.
“‘This is called I can’t hear you. People are screaming. What did you say? Where are we supposed to go?'” Wilson wrote over an Instagram Story screenshot of an article about their alleged falling-out.

Chapalain also took to Twitter to ease any speculation of an agitated disagreement, tweeting, “They simply asked me if they should return to the start of the carpet with the rest of the film crew (I am not security.)”
“And with the cries of photographers, they needed to speak loudly,” he added in a follow-up tweet.
Chapalain has worked the ritzy Cannes Film Festival for a decade and Hanks has developed a reputation as one of the nicest stars in Hollywood, which left many raising an eyebrow at the reports of the ‘incident’.

Hanks only recently made headlines for announcing that he could possibly show up in films even after his death while discussing AI technology.
“What is a bona fide possibility right now is, if I wanted to, I could get together and pitch a series of seven movies that would star me in them in which I would be 32 years old from now until kingdom come,” he said while speaking on the latest episode of The Adam Buxton podcast.
“Anybody can now recreate themselves at any age they are by way of AI or deep fake technology. I could be hit by a bus tomorrow and that’s it, but performances can go on and on and on and on.”
