I’ve owned my Tesla Model 3 for just two days, but I already hate it – here’s why

TikTok user @itselijones spent around £42,000 on a Tesla Model 3 -which has an estimated range of around 370 miles.

But he’s fuming after realising that the Tesla Autopilot function still doesn’t work – a feature that enables your car to steer, accelerate and brake automatically within its lane.

According to Tesla, the calibration typically completes after driving 20-25 miles, but the distance varies depending on the road and the environmental conditions.

He said: “Bro, the Autopilot still doesn’t function – it’s still accelerating after driving it a hundred and twenty miles and is supposed to have calibrated after twenty-five miles, but hasn’t yet.

“That being said, driving without the Auto-pilot is pretty fast and fun. The second thing I hate is the charger that comes with the car.

“It charges my car super slowly. We’re halfway full after twenty-two hours.

“That’s because the charger they give you plugs into a standard house socket, and it’s only a hundred and ten volts, but you can order the fast charger for £400.

“Also, this car is so quiet that I keep falling asleep while driving down the road.”

The video has had thousands of views on TikTok – and 25,000 likes, but most users disagree with the poster.

One said: “It hasn’t calibrated because either a Tesla hasn’t driven your route yet or when you enable it, it resets it.

The poster answered: “Interesting! It just now finished with a short highway drive. Now to get used to the car driving for me.”

Another user said: “To be honest, the price of the home charging system, if you upgrade it, is still lower than some people’s month of gas.”

A third pointed out: “How fast it charges at your house is not Tesla‘s fault. It’s yours for not having the correct outlet installed.”

This comes after a driver who bought a £100k Model S claims that it looks like it was built by a group of toddlers.

Plus, an electric car expert revealed the top five things he wishes he had known before buying a Tesla Model 3.
