The Sierra RS Cosworth was the first Ford to wear “Cosworth” badging and was launched as a homologation model for Ford’s racing aspirations.
The ‘Cossie’ has a turbocharged 2.0-litre petrol engine, producing 201bhp, while it has a set of 16-inch gold-coloured split-rim BBS wheels with Bridgestone tyres.
This example includes Recaro front seats, electrically operated windows and mirrors, air conditioning, and a CD player.
It’s been fitted with several modifications, including an aftermarket boost gauge, air intake, blow-off valve, and silicone hoses.
Collecting Cars, who are managing the sale via their bespoke website, said: “The paintwork is said to be in good condition, and the car has previously been resprayed in areas.
“There are stone chips on the front bumper, cracks in the front spoiler, and a small blemish on the bonnet.
“Inside, save for signs of use on the seats, entry sills, and door cards, the nostalgic cabin presents in good order.
“The wing mirror controls are non-functional, though the seller is not aware of any further mechanical or electrical faults. ”
The car was last serviced by Billion Target Holdings, who changed the engine oil and oil filter.
This comes after a classic Mk1 Ford Escort RS1600 is up for sale at auction, and it could end up going for a fortune.
