WhatsApp adds lifesaving new button that all users need – and it’ll be ‘VERY helpful’ to avoid massive rows

WHATSAPP has finally introduced the feature fans have begged for for years.

Owner Mark Zuckerberg, 39, has revealed that the popular messaging app will allow you to edit messages after they’re sent.

But you’ll have a limited amount of time to correct any embarrassing errors before they cause an argument.

Users will have up to 15 minutes to go back and fix typos or mistakes.

To use it, all you need to do is press and hold on the message until the menu appears, where you’ll find the Edit button.

Just perform a long-press on a sent message and choose ‘Edit’ from the menu up to fifteen minutes after you’ve sent it.

But watch out, as you won’t be able to get away with editing messages completely unnoticed.

A marker next to the time will say that you’ve made a change, so expect awkward questions to follow if you’re in a heated row.

Fortunately they won’t be able to see edit history.

“You can now edit your WhatsApp messages up to 15 mins after they’re sent!” Zuckerberg announced on his Facebook page.

The feature is rolling out globally from today and will be available to everyone within the coming weeks, WhatsApp said.

“I once wrote “my condoms” instead of my condolences in a family group,” one user wrote.

“Thank you Uncle Mark.”

Another said: “I remember sending my ex this message….“ baby, I need a bréakup now” instead of “ baby, I need a bréakfast”.

“And that was the end of the relationship.”
