A CAR enthusiast has revealed a speed camera app he uses that is able to warn drivers of temporary police traps – and it could save them hundreds in fines.
The man took to social media to share a smartphone app that is able to provide real-time warnings about potholes, police speed traps and traffic congestion.

The Waze app can be downloaded on App Store and Android – and the TikTok user – @jobbertok – demonstrated in his video how it could potentially save drivers a tidy sum.
The video shows the driver slowing down when the app notifies him that there is a camera van nearby.
However, a Vauxhall Astra that is travelling in the outside lane isn’t so lucky, doesn’t reduce its speed, and quite possibly receives a fine in the post.
The TikToker says in the video: “When you get warned about the speed camera van ahead because you’re using Waze, but this Vauxhall Astra didn’t.”
Waze is a free GPS navigation app that is able to provide real-time traffic updates, plus other social and gaming functions.
Users can actively update one another on traffic, police traps, construction and speed cams.
The video has had more than 11,800 views on TikTok, but users are not too convinced.
One said: “I don’t use Waze if I already know my route.”
Another said: “It doesn’t always work, twice it’s not notified me.”
A third pointed out: “Is Waze really that different from Google Maps?”
This comes after drivers were warned not to fall for a common speed camera myth.
