KFC customers are only just realising millions can get discounts on all orders – but there’s a catch

KFC customers are only just realising that they could be entitled to discounts on all their orders – but there’s a catch.

It’s no secret that if you work for the NHS you can get access to deals that nobody else can.

Fast food giant KFC offers customers with a Blue Light Card 10% off when they link it to the app.

The card provides millions of workers in the NHS, emergency services, social care sector and armed forces with discounts online and in-store.

Linking the card to the app generates a QR code which can then be used to claim the discount online or in a branch.

But some KFC fans have only just realised that they are entitled to the discount.

Posting in the Extreme Couponing and Bargains UK Facebook group, one person said: “All those who are not aware, KFC does 10% off!

“You can just upload your ID once and get the discount automatically on the app.”

The post racked up more than 200 likes and more than 500 comments from others who didn’t know they could get the discount.

One person said: “Thank you, I’ve had the KFC app for years and never knew you could add your Blue Light Card to it.”

While another said: “As if, I’ve just been to KFC as well!”

And a third added: “Ooo I need to start doing this.”

The scheme is set to end in November 2023, according to the KFC app.

McDonald’s also offers NHS staff with a card money off their meals.

The discount is available to any NHS workers who sign up to the McDonald’s App with an NHS email address.

The Blue Light Discount scheme is a nationally recognised scheme that provides a range of discounts to workers in the NHS, emergency services, social care sector and the armed forces.
