SKY customers have been warned a long-running add-on TV service will effectively shutdown at the end of May.
The broadcasting giant is pulling the plug on the Sky+ app, meaning anyone with a Sky+ HD box will no longer have as many controls for their set-top box via their iPhone or Android device.

Some features on the app have already stopped working, such as Channel Favourites.
But from May 30, Sky will stop updating the platform for good.
Although people can continue to use it beyond that date, lack of support will likely result in features eventually becoming broken and unfixed.
The top rail of the app will no longer display the latest content from Sky.
But you can still browse for content via search, the TV guide or the content sections including catch up TV and top picks.
Sky has already pulled the app from the Apple App Store and Google Play Store so no new installations will be possible.
However, customers who have previously downloaded it can do a reinstall, so long as they’re signed into their device using the same Apple ID or Google account originally used to download the Sky+ app.
Warning users, Sky wrote online: “It’s understandably not ideal for those whose viewing experience centres and relies upon using the Sky+ App daily.
“Your concerns and frustrations have been heard, and we’re working as hard as possible with the relevant teams to ensure that your individual needs are met as effectively as possible.”
Affected users have been urged to download the Sky Go app instead.
Sky Go lets you schedule remote recordings and downloads to your Sky+ HD box like the old app does.
Sky+ HD was launched all the way back in May 2006.
