User ryans_salvage showed how he bought a sporty Volkswagen Scirocco with 130k miles on the clock for £1,100.
And, after completing some repair work on the stylish coupe and giving it a good clean, he managed to sell it on for a tidy profit.
The car expert made more than £1,400 after accepting a bid of £3,000 on Facebook Marketplace.
He explained that the Scirocco needed some simple mechanical work sorting, along with a new rear tail light and an MOT.
The video has been viewed almost a million times and received more than 45k likes, while hundreds of viewers have left comments wanting to know more about how ryans_salvage managed to make his money.
The car flipper admitted it was a friend who actually sourced the car, but that he gave him a ‘finder’s fee’ of £100.
One viewer asked ryans_salvage where he found the cars that he then sells on.
He replied: “A lot of ‘em are word of mouth, I also use Facebook and Copart.”
Another queried: “Where do you list up your flips, the marketplace or multiple other different websites?
Ryans_salvage said: “Facebook market works best for under 10k I find, eBay and autotrader if it’s more expensive.”
And, when one viewer commented that the enterprising car salesman was perhaps a bit lucky that the Scirocco didn’t have more expensive engine problems, the TikToker replied:
“Yeah could’ve been worse, would have got 2k for the front end, seats and wheels, so would’ve been a win either way.”
