BOOTS shoppers have been rushing to buy a baby essential that is scanning at the till for just 1p.

Bargain hunters have been known to find items that have been scanning at the till for much less than their advertised price.

Boots sells all sorts from beauty products, medicines and baby itemsAlamy

The shopper shared her find on Facebook

And one savvy shopper managed to pick up a baby bottle and dummy set for just 1p at Boots pharmacy.

Posting in Facebook’s Extreme Couponing & Bargains group, she said: “Scanning at 1p in Boots Teesside Park my partner went there yesterday while I was ill and brought back 4 of these and paid 4p!

“We’ve got a little boy on the way and we bought the MAM breast pump a few weeks ago.

“These bottles are compatible with that machine! Still a lot on the shelf when we went.”

People took to the comments to share their thoughts.

One said: “If I were you I’d go buy another four you can never have to many bottles.”

And another wrote: “Thanks I’ll try my luck when I’m in near next grab the whole shelf.”

But other shoppers said that it was part of the Boots Parenting Club which is where parents can get items for free.

One said: “They scan at this price because they are meant to be part of the parenting club, where you get them for free (one per person with the voucher), rather than off the shelf.

“Congrats for getting more than one for that price though.”

Boots launched the Parenting Club to help shoppers navigate the world of parenthood, whether you are a first time parent, or have have a growing brood.

The membership is completely free, all you have to do is sign up for a Boots Advantage Card, and if you are an existing member simply sign up to the club when you are expecting.

We checked online, and a MAM bottle and dummy set can cost anywhere from about £8, so you’d be saving £7.99.

At the time of writing, we could only see a two bottle and dummy set at Boots which was being sold at £18.

Of course, do check for other offers in store and online as we may have missed one.

Bear in mind that product and prices will vary from store to store but it’s always worth heading down to your local Boots to check.

How to get deals at Boots

Shoppers signed up to a Boots Advantage Card can earn points and subsequently discounts as they shop.

It’s free to do and you can fill out the form online – you should be mailed your card thereafter.

All you do is scan the card at the till every time you shop to build up points.

As well as earning points, Advantage Card holders get personalised offers through the Boots app, including 200 points for downloading it.

They also get extra benefits in Parenting Club, over 60s rewards and a 10% student discount all year round.

Members also benefit from “Price Advantage”, which is when you get instant lower prices on over 900 products a month.

Also, don’t forget there are advantages to shopping in store at certain times.

We spoke to an expert who said Star Gifts, which are items better than half price and featured across premium beauty, electrical beauty and fragrance, often fly off the shelves.

It might be an idea to pop in during the morning to get the most out of your local shop’s range.

You should also look out for £10 Tuesday flash sales, where for a limited 24 hours, a range of products are reduced to £10.

But remember if you order anything online, don’t forget about delivery costs on top.

This may go up depending on how much you order or how far away from the closest store you live.
