NETFLIX users have been warned of an alarming new email doing the rounds designed to scare people into inadvertently giving away money.
The latest scam tells people their payment has been declined for their subscription.

It threatens to suspend your Netflix account unless you fix it within 48 hours.
Hackers regularly use urgency to trick people into making rash decisions.
There’s not actually a problem with your payment details – bad actors just want you to click a button so you’ll part with your hard earned cash.
The email is titled “Update required – Netflix account on hold,” according to the Mirror.
“Dear customer,” it reads.
“We were unable to validate your billing information for the next billing cycle of your subscription therefore we’ll suspend your membership if we do not receive a response from you within 48hours.
“Obviously we’d love to have you back, simply click on RETRY PAYMENT to update your details and continue to enjoy all the best TV shows & movies without interruption.”
There are some telltale signs to look out for in scams like these.
Firstly, what does the sender’s email address look like?
Official messages would come from an @netflix.com email.
Also, if you check out the email itself the logo looks slightly off.
Other indicators in scams are spelling or punctuation errors.
