Sky customers are just realising there’s an ultra-easy and free way to save money on their bills

EVERYONE is trying to squash down their energy usage as much as possible this year.

But Sky Q customers are just realising there’s a trick exclusive to them – and it takes just minutes to set up.

Sky Q is the broadcaster’s defacto service, alongside Sky Stream and Sky Glass.

The Sky Q box always needs to use a bit of power, just so it can Series Link viewers’ favourite shows.

But customers can actually save money by making the box go into standby mode at night – or whenever it’s not being used.

Sky initially created an Eco mode to help customers do their bit for the environment.

Although the feature has grown increasingly necessary for customers in the UK as energy bills spiral.

It’s incredibly easy to set up and doesn’t cost a penny.

Simply go to Settings > Setup > Preferences > Standby mode.

Next, just enable Eco mode and you’ll be ready to go.

Switching on this feature helps keep the electricity bill down, as well as helping the planet.

If you’re really serious about saving electricity when watching the telly, with Sky Q you can cut out the television altogether.

The Sky Go app means viewers can watch live and on-demand TV wherever they are so long as they have a Wi-Fi connection or data.

The app is available to Sky Q customers for free on Android and iPhone.
