Tom Selleck’s 1953 Dodge Power Wagon with rifle rack in cab is up for auction and set to fetch an eye-watering amount

STAR of 80s hit show Magnum PI, Tom Selleck, has had some interesting cars over the years, and his previous Dodge Power Wagon is now up for auction at an eye-watering price.

The eccentric set of wheels could fetch around £90,000 when it goes under the hammer, with bidders clamoring to ensure that they drive away with this ultra-rare motor.

Millennial motorists may not have heard the name Tom Selleck, although it wasn’t too long ago that the 80s TV star was lighting up screens across the world as Thomas Magnum – the Hawaii-based private investigator.

What made the show even better was that Magnum’s choice of wheels was a Ferrari 308 GTS – in Rosso Corsa red, obviously.

The Dodge truck was originally meant to be more of a workhorse than a car to drive around town in.

The huge 1953 pick-up was restored and customized for Selleck – to be used on his 65-acre ranch.

It comes equipped with original features such as a winch and a water pump, while a rifle rack was fitted in the rear of the cab.

The truck is still powered by the original 2.3-litre inline-six petrol engine, and it’s only covered a little over 19,000 miles.

To help attract a high bid, the seller is including a photo of the truck and Selleck together, along with ownership documentation that should reveal how long Selleck was in possession of his monster truck.

As there’s no reserve in place, the Power Wagon will go to the highest bid on the day, which means buyers could bag a bargain at the Palm Beach auction in mid-April.
