The amazing secluded UK beach that’s been compared to a Caribbean island – and is home to otters and killer whales

A BEACH in the UK is being compared to a Caribbean island by those who can’t believe it’s in this country.

Far more people are looking to find places to holiday closer to home this year, with trips abroad becoming increasingly expensive.

One place that could fool people into thinking they’re abroad is up in Scotland, with Langamull beach often compared to shores of much more exotic locations.

The bay on the Isle of Mull is described as the island’s “best kept secret” the “Mull Caribbean” due to its clear blue waters and golden sands.

The Isle of Mull website says: it “really is the most fabulous expanse of glistening white shell sand” and points out that there are “a couple of hidden coves too” for those who want to go exploring.

What’s more, the beach is relatively secluded, with people praising how quiet it is alongside its beauty.

One TripAdvisor reviewer wrote “We spent several hours on a magnificent beach that could have been anywhere in the world.

“It was deserted when we went, which only added to its charm.”

Another added: “The beach is exquisitely white and perfect for paddling.

“We spent a few hours admiring the vistas and didn’t see a human sole there.”

Its secluded nature is also enjoyed by a lot of wildlife as well as human visitors – with some amazing species frequently spotted nearby.

Killer whales and dolphins are regular visitors, with one TripAdvisor reviewer saying they saw a small pod of around four orcas from the beach.

In fact, Scotland’s west coast is also home to around a quarter of the world’s species of whale, dolphin and porpoise.

However, there are cuter and fluffier creatures to look out for too, with otters regularly seen going about their business.

Local accommodation provider Treshnish Farm wrote on their blog about one of the animals standing “about 10 feet away. We watched him for quite some time, preening and grooming, before he curled up and went to sleep, in the sun.”

Langamull isn’t the only beautiful beach in the area either, with the nearby Calgary Bay also impressing.

Although slightly less secluded than Langamull, it’s still nonetheless unspoilt, albeit a little more commonly visited by people.

Elsewhere on the island, there are yet more stunning beaches, included one that’s visited by fluffy cows, who are known to wade in the sea.

To get there, you take the ferry from Oban, a few hours north of Glasgow, and takes just 45 minutes.

If you fancy moving there, you could even be paid to live on the island.

Last year, The Isle of Mull Hotel and Spa were looking for people to work there, and it included a full salary and luxury live-in accommodation.

And in 2019, a 300-year-old, eight-bedroom castle on the island went on the market for just £695,000.

Meanwhile, these UK islands have even been compared to the Maldives because of how beautiful they look.

And this British Island looks like it could also be in the Caribbean.
