Ischemia, per the American Heart Association, is a condition where blood flow and oxygen are restricted or reduced in a specific part of the body.

According to the Mayo Clinic, arteriosclerosis is when “blood vessels that carry oxygen and nutrients from the heart to the rest of the body become thick and stiff”, which can restrict blood flow to tissue and organs, and the subsequent clotting can trigger a stroke or heart attack.

When Reddick died, law enforcement sources said it was due to “natural causes”. On his death certificate, Reddick’s cause of death is listed as heart and artery disease.
