EAGLE-EYED Countdown fans picked up on an apparent blunder from co-presenter Rachel Riley.
The Channel 4 competition show features various number and word tests, where its contestants show their ability.

During Tuesday’s (December 6) episode, Rachel pulled out a series of letters for the celebrity contestants to create a word with.
At the end of the round, she displayed a word she had created, which was ‘antedote’.
Many of the show’s loyal fans instantly flagged that she had “spelt it wrong!”
Taking to Twitter, one wrote: “Surely it’s antidote rather than antedote?”

His post gathered some attention from fellow viewers, as one responded: “Agree. Surely not a word.
“Just tried searching for it and only found a firm with that name.”
Another fan pointed out something that had annoyed them about the number round.
They wrote: “(8×25) – (6+5+3) = 186 #countdown Gosh, they made a right meal of an easy one.”

To which another fan of the show pointed out: “They also spelt Antidote wrong!
“Rachel Riley put it on the board as “Antedote”.
Some even suggested that she had “stolen” former co-host Susie Dent’s job.
However, one viewer came to Rachel’s defence, saying she actually got it right: “It’s a different one. Antedote was correct; it discovers and unlocks growth.”
As the original poster replied quickly: “Antedote is the name of a company that claims to do that.
“It’s a proper noun and therefore invalid in the contest.”
