Brock Lesnar ‘walked out of WWE five weeks before WrestleMania’ reveals Paul Heyman

PAUL HEYMAN has revealed how Brock Lesnar sensationally “walked out of WWE five weeks” before WrestleMania.

The Wise Man is preparing to be in the corner of the current undisputed WWE and Universal champion Roman Reigns this Sunday.

The Tribal Chief will defend his titles against Royal Rumble winner Cody Rhodes in the main event on night two of WrestleMania 39 in Los Angeles.

But Heyman previously found himself on the opposite side of the fence to the leader of The Bloodline during his long stint as the official advocate to former UFC heavyweight and multiple-time WWE champ Lesnar.

The Beast and Reigns have had numerous battles over the years – but it was at WrestleMania 31 that the pair first collided.

Heyman appeared on Ryan Satin’s Out Of Character podcast ahead of this weekend’s spectacular, and during the interview he revealed the chaotic build-up to that showdown eight years ago.

He said: “I was there for his (Roman Reigns’) first WrestleMania main event because it was against Brock Lesnar.

“I was there for the first promo he had to do about his first WrestleMania main event because it was the night after the blizzard and Brock and I came and I opened it up by shaking his hand and telling him that I’ve known your family longer than you’ve known your own family and then when we finally brought it out into the ring.”

Then he dropped the bombshell that Lesnar quit WWE due to disagreements before things were patched up just days prior to that Mania – which actually resulted in Seth Rollins cashing in his Money in the Bank briefcase to win the title in the main event in what many describe as “the heist of the century”.

Heyman continued: “Brock had walked out of WWE five weeks before WrestleMania and we were tasked with Roman Reigns and Paul Heyman in the ring talking about Roman Reigns’ first WrestleMania main event, just the two of us, which history will now show, these parallels between these two men (Reigns & Cody Rhodes) that carry their family legacies, both from the past and into the future.

“Cody Rhodes’ first promo with somebody about his first WrestleMania main event was with me.”

While Heyman and Reigns will be involved in the main event again at Mania, Lesnar faces a very different challenge.

The Beast, who fellow icon Kurt Angle believes could soon retire from the ring, will be facing the 7ft 3in Omos – the third largest man to ever compete in WWE.
