One man let his guard down for just a second allowing McGregor to pounce
But he will also be keen to stay sharp with a clash against fellow TV coach and UFC fighter Michael Chandler on the cards.
The 34-year-old has clearly not lost his knack for causing damage as fans could see from newly-released sparring footage.
It shows the MMA legend going toe-to-toe with one of his students who was trying to keep pace with McGregor.
The Irishman at one point catches the student’s foot at the beginning of the video in the first warning sign of danger.
McGregor‘s opponent, wearing black shorts, then attempts to keep his distance as the pair prepare to exchange light jabs.
But the student lets his guard down for just a second allowing McGregor to land a sweet uppercut.
The shot lightly rocks the man’s head back but he recovers quickly.
But the uppercut does appear to accidentally loosen his head gear which he then resolves to get rid of for the rest of the video.
