Here is everything we know about the World Cup star…
Who is Raheem Sterling?
The 27-year-old midfielder was born in Jamaica and moved to London with his mum and older sister at the age of five.
He received the Golden Boy award for 2014 from a pan-European panel of sports journalists, recognising him as the best under-21 player playing in Europe.
Sterling began his career at Queens Park Rangers as a nine-year-old schoolboy before signing to Liverpool in 2010.
In 2015 he was transferred from Liverpool to Manchester City for up to £49million – the highest transfer fee ever paid for an English player.
His star appeared to wane in his first season with the team, and he eventually lost his place in the starting line-up.
But Sterling’s performance picked up over the past two seasons, and he was considered a standout performer for the Premier League champions that season.
He played for England at both the 2014 and 2018 World Cups, before being selected by Gareth Soutgate for the 2022 tournament in Qatar.
Unfortunately, he had to fly home and missed England’s round-of-16 win over Senegal after his home was broken into, with £300,000 worth of jewellery stolen.
How many children does Raheem Sterling have?
Raheem’s partner Paige Milian gave birth to their son Thiago in 2017 and a second son Thai in 2019.
Sterling also has a daughter, Melody Rose, from a previous relationship, born in 2012.
