Sir Rod Stewart has given fans an update on his health after he was forced to cancel his recent Victoria show due to a “viral infection”.
In a video shared to his Instagram Stories, Stewart, 78, revealed that despite his health issues over the weekend, he is all set to perform this time round.
“My dear friends in Adelaide, just to guarantee that the show will be going ahead. I had a slight setback here in Melbourne, I had to miss a show because I had strep throat,” the singer revealed.

Stewart went on to assure fans that he is “fine now”. “I will be there, I am looking forward to it,” he said.
Over the weekend, the rocker shared a heartfelt apology to fans who had been looking forward to his show at the A Day on the Green festival in Geelong, Victoria. Stewart was supposed to perform alongside fellow music legends Cyndi Lauper and Jon Stevens.
His post at the time read: “Hello my friends. I’m absolutely downhearted that I’m disappointing my fans who bought tickets to A Day On The Green. Late this morning I was advised that I have a viral infection and my throat is too irritated to sing.”

“Sending beautiful get-well wishes to you for a quick recovery!” one person wrote. “It’s not just your voice you need, but all the energy you put in to your shows, you’re dancing, and your ability to showcase everyone on the stage while still shining as the incredible performer and singer you are.”
“Take care of yourself, don’t worry, your fans understand and will be waiting for you. Much love, many blessings,” another wrote.
