Supercomputer predicts Europa League winner after juicy quarter-finals draw.. and it’s music to Man Utd fans’ ears

MANCHESTER UNITED will win the Europa League this year… according to a supercomputer.

Friday’s quarter-final draw handed the Red Devils a tasty tie against competition specialists Sevilla.

A supercomputer has given Manchester United the best chance of winning the Europa League

Erik ten Hag’s side won 1-0 at Real Betis on Thursday to progress to the quarters 5-1 on aggregate.

And their reward for making it through was a FOURTH meeting with Spanish opposition in Europe this season – this time against Sevilla.

But regardless of being drawn against the six-time winners, United have still been tipped to go all the way and lift the trophy by FiveThirtyEight.

Sevilla are currently languishing 13th in LaLiga, having won just seven out of 25 league games this season.

And the supercomputer gives United a 24 per cent chance of winning the Europa League, making Ten Hag and Co strong favourites.

German side Bayer Leverkusen, who take on Union Saint-Gilloise in the quarters, have the second best chance of lifting the trophy at 17 per cent.

The Belgian outfit have just a three per cent chance of winning the tournament – the lowest out of the eight remaining teams.

Sevilla have the second-worst chance at four per cent, according to the calculations.

The supercomputer couldn’t separate Juventus and Sporting, who face off in the next round, giving both sides a 13 per cent chance of winning the tournament.

Feyenoord have a 14 per cent chance, and Roma 11 per cent, with those two teams also going head to head in the next round.

United will face the winners of Juventus vs Sporting in the semi-finals, provided they make it past Sevilla.

The other semi-final will see the winners of Feyenoord vs Roma play the winners of Leverkusen vs Union Saint-Gilloise.
