FORMER women’s footballer Jill Scott’s epic rise continues.
The famous Lioness, 36, will captain an England XI at the annual charity event Soccer Aid on June 11.

Months later, Scott was crowned queen of the jungle on I’m a Celeb…Rex
She will be joined by the likes of ex-Arsenal star Jack Wilshere, Paul Scholes and Mo Farah.
Scott said: “The Euros, The Jungle and now Soccer Aid – it’s the holy trinity!
“I’ve won two of them, so just need Soccer Aid now to complete ‘The Treble’.
“I think of all three, this might be the one I’m most nervous about, though – just look at the names involved.”
Getting picked for Soccer Aid completes a whirlwind two years for the ex-Man City ace, who was nicknamed ‘Crouchy’ by her team-mates after lanky male football star Peter Crouch – even though she is a mere 5ft 11in tall.
Last year, she achieved the pinnacle of her football career – winning the Euros with England on home soil.
Just months later, Scott took her popularity to Australia, where she competed on I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here!
Of course, she won that too!
While in her personal life, she is engaged to coffee shop co-owner, Shelly Unitt.
Crowning glory
Scott had already enjoyed a storied career in the women’s game, before her defining moment.
She played 165 times for Manchester City, who she won the WSL with in 2016.
And the leggy midfielder appeared 161 times for England, with her final moments representing her country being her most important.
Scott was an integral part of England’s Euro 2022 campaign, beating the Germans in the final to claim the trophy at Wembley, the home of football.
Amusingly, she was caught on camera in an altercation with Germany’s Sydney Lohmann – shouting expletives at an opponent – a behaviour she later admitted she doesn’t condone. But the fire in her belly showed that day.
A month later, she hung up her boots. But that wasn’t the last we would hear from Scott.

Queen of the Jungle
Months after her dazzling display at the Euros, Scott joined the contestants of I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here for series 22 of the reality show, which was back in Australia for the first time since the pandemic.
Of course, she didn’t disappoint her fans.
Her quick one-liners left her campmates and viewers in hysterics.
Constant jibes at former Tory Matt Hancock about his affair endeared her to the public.
While the bravery she was famous for on the pitch was evident throughout her time in the jungle.
In one particular Bushtucker Trial, a cockroach climbed into her ear.
When presenters Ant and Dec asked if a medic take a look, Scott declared, “You don’t have to look – it’s definitely in there!”
It was no surprise she beat Hancock and soap star Owen Warner, who became her bestie in the camp, to be the new queen of the jungle.

Love is in the air
Meeting Scott on the bridge after she won was her fiancee, Shelly Unitt.
The ex-community health officer, 37, reportedly began dating the footballer around six years ago.
Shelly’s sister Rachel famously played for Everton in the 2000s.
Shelly and Jill got engaged back in March 2020.
The couple announced their engagement on social media, with Jill sharing a snap of her dazzling ring as she held a cup of coffee.
The caption read: “The best coffee so far @shellyunitt.”
Since announcing their exciting engagement news, the couple have kept their wedding plans under wraps.
Shelly has two daughters from a previous romance – Evie, 19 and Hattie, 15.
On Instagram, she often shares snaps of her two girls with Jill on family holidays.

Coffee mate
Together, Unitt and Scott are in business together with their coffee shop, Boxx2Boxx in Northenden, Manchester.
The name is a reference to Scott’s biggest attribute on the pitch – being a box-to-box midfielder.
Often, Scott can be seen behind the counter – acting as barista – and serving flat whites.
Pastries and cakes are also on offer for the fairly hipster crowd it attracts.
Celebrities have also been known to pop in, too.
Man City aces Phil Foden and Kevin De Bruyne have popped in for a drink.
TV pundits Jamie Redknapp and Micah Richards are also customers.

And Scott’s former campmate Owen Warner has also visited – and served out some beverages.
So joining the stars in Soccer Aid won’t be daunting for Jill, when the summer comes and the Rest of the World await as opponents.
