The discount is currently available to any NHS workers who sign up to the McDonald’s App with an NHS email address.

In July 2021, McDonald’s announced that it was thanking emergency services for their hard work during the pandemic with the 20% off.

It was due to end at the end of 2021 but was then extended for the whole of 2022 before being extended again to the end of March 2023.

So there is a chance it could be extended again.

Last year, Asda extended its Blue Light Card discount to the end of March after it was due to be scrapped on December 31.

The Sun has has asked McDonald’s if it’s likely to extend the scheme and will update this story when we hear back.

Workers can get the discount when they buy main menu items through the McDonald’s app.

But now time is running out to take advantage of the scheme.

Steve Bater, spokesman at NHS Money Saving blog NHS Discount Offers said: “We’ve had a good run with this deal but its a real shame that the McDonald’s discount is set to end on March 31  so time is really ticking for NHS staff to get their 20% off their favourite meals.”

He added that the McDonald’s discount has been one of the most popular food discounts for NHS staff over the past year.

“The cost of living crisis continues and every little helps as we look to save money wherever we can, it’s really appreciated that McDonalds have been helping NHS staff save,” Steve said.

NHS workers have to download the My McDonald’s app to access their discount.

You can download the app for free on the App Store or Google Play.

The offer will automatically be applied to accounts that are registered with an NHS email address.

If you’ve already signed up with your personal email address, it is possible to change this in the settings section of the app.

When you order using the app, you can either choose to collect your food from your nearest store or opt for a home delivery.

If you decide to get your meal delivered, you will have to pay an additional fee.

You can find your nearest McDonald’s branch using the online store locator.
