A MAJOR pharmacy chain has launched a huge closing down sale and there are some mega bargains on offer.
Shoppers have spotted the sale at some Lloyds Pharmacy chemists which are set to close.

Posting in Facebook’s Extreme Couponing & Bargain’s group, one shopper said: “So many bargains in Lloyds Chemist.
“All shampoo, conditioners, hair dye £2 and also all baby toiletries!”
While another posted separately saying: “Lloyds pharmacy have pampers baby dry at £2 and pampers nappy pants £3 also all baby toiletries £2 or less.”
Keen customers also spotted that Lloyds was also discounting some of its cosmetics.
Shoppers spotted a sale at these stores with discounted branded make-up and other cosmetics costing just £1.
Stock and price will vary from store to store, but do pop into your local Lloyds to see if anything is on offer.
Remember, it’s not a bargain if you weren’t planning on buying it already.
A number of the chain’s chemists including those in Harrogate and Glasgow could close their doors in a matter of weeks.
It comes as the owner of Lloyds Pharmacy told The Sun that it had put all of its 1,300 chemist branches at risk of closure.
Not all Lloyd’s chemists are taking part in the sale as it depends entirely if your local store has been sold or is in the process of closing down.
The sale is also not available online and store workers are having to “manually override each item” at the tills in the stores participating in the sale.
Sources told The Sun yesterday that its private equity owner had launched a strategic review of its entire UK store base.
The process could lead to a sale of all of its pharmacies or closure, they said.
Lloyds Pharmacy operates around 10% of all UK pharmacies.
Lloyds Pharmacy has already announced the closure of 237 of its pharmacies in Sainsbury’s supermarkets by the end of the year.
It has 17,000 employees across the business and dispenses 150 million prescriptions annually.
A spokesperson for Lloyds told The Sun: “LloydsPharmacy regularly reviews its pharmacy estate to ensure it is operating sustainably and any decision to sell stores is taken in the interests of patients, colleagues and the business.
“At all times, patient safety remains our top priority ensuring that our customers and patients are always able to access vital prescriptions, health advice, products and services.”
Lloyds isn’t the only chain to announce some stores would be shutting shop in 2023.
Catalogue retailer Argos is closing a handful of standalone stores across the high street in 2023.
For example, its Coatbridge branch, in Lanarkshire, Scotland, will pull down its shutters on March 11.
B&M is set to close four of its stores this year, including in Stockton and Bristol.
It’s also closing its Kilmarnock branch in the Queens Drive Retail park on March 26.
Halford has said it is closing its East Road Retail Park branch in Irvine after two already shut up shop.
Meanwhile, House of Fraser is looking to close two locations.
Supermarket giant M&S is closing more stores later this year after half a dozen already did.
M&Co’s 170 shops will close forever this year, putting 1,910 jobs at risk.
