Parents on the school run blasted as lazy for blocking crucial parking for medical patients – but who’s in the wrong?

PARENTS on the school run have been blasted as “lazy” for blocking crucial parking for medical patients

And they’ve been told to stop parking in a Leeds medical centre car park when dropping off and picking their kids up from school.

Hospital staff said they’re blocking patients, many of whom are disabled, from attending their appointments.

And they’ve been reminded it’s a private car park, only for the use of either patients or visitors to the neighbouring chemist, opticians or vets.

Grandmother Kate Simcock, 72, who is a member of the surgery’s Patient Participation (PPC) was tasked with spreading the message about the ongoing issue at the group’s meeting yesterday.

She says the nearby school has been advised of the problem.

Kate said to Leeds Live: “It has become an issue, and there are patients who are disabled who cannot get to their appointments.

“Parents really shouldn’t be using private property. It is just lazy. It’s lazy parents. They are just so inconsiderate.

“My message to them is, could parents be much more considerate to other people and cognitive of the fact there are disabled people who have difficulty getting to their appointment?”

Kate has added that parents are not the only issue and someone’s car was locked into the car park on a Saturday afternoon after the centre’s gates shut.

So at all times, weekday or weekend, motorists should be mindful of the medical centre’s car park.
