Darren Till AXED by UFC in shock cut from roster by Dana White alongside two other big names after grim run of losses

DARREN TILL has reportedly been “removed from the UFC roster” following three straight defeats.

The Brit, 30, joined the organisation back in 2015 but has suffered a string of disappointing results over the past four years.

And his loss to Dricus du Plessis in December proved to be the final straw for Dana White‘s organisation.

Till submitted in the third round at UFC 282 as he lost for the fifth time in six fights.

And the Liverpudlian has now been replaced in the middleweight’s top 15 by Brendan Allen – who picked up a big win over Andre Muniz at UFC Vegas 70.

According to UFC Roster Watch, Till is one of three fighters to have been removed from the roster.

The other two are lightweight Zubaira Tukhugov and bantamweight Jose Johnson.

It is not yet known whether Till’s contract has expired or he has parted ways with the MMA company.

A run of 17 wins and one draw was brought to an end by Tyron Woodley in 2018 when Till came up short in his challenge for the UFC welterweight title.

Six months later, he was then knocked out cold by Jorge Masvidal as back-to-back defeats left him in need of a win.

He secured that victory by moving up to middleweight and clinching a split-decision triumph over Kevin Gastelum in November 2019.

But that failed to stem the tide as three successive losses followed against Robert Whittaker, Derek Brunson and Du Plessis.

Following his latest defeat, Till insisted he would not retire but gave a frank assessment of his career trajectory.

He said: “You don’t always get what you want in this life, it’s tough. I’m 29 now, I’ve been at the top of this sport since 2017 I entered the UFC in 2015.

“I’m doing this video because I feel like I should do it now, the right time is now.

“I’m not retiring this is not a retirement speech. I’m 29, that’d be stupid to retire but I’m on a bit of a losing skid at the moment.”
