FRANKIE DETTORI has suffered a huge blow on his global retirement tour.
The world’s most famous jockey was set to ride superstar filly Commissioning in the 1000 Guineas at Newmarket in May.

But trainer John Gosden confirmed she had suffered a career-ending injury in training and has been retired.
The unbeaten three-year-old was the leading British-trained hope in the first Classic of the season for fillies.
She was third favourite at around 6-1 with most firms after blowing rivals away last year with a trio of victories.
The last of which came over the Rowley mile in October 2022 when she netted owners Isa Salman and Abdulla Al Khalifa £300,000 with victory in the bet365 Fillies’ Mile.
It is another bitter blow for Team Gosden, who saw Inspiral ruled out of the same race when ante-post favourite last year.
Gosden Snr said: “Unfortunately Commissioning sustained an injury to her left hind fetlock.

While son Thady, who is joint-trainer on the licence, added: “Commissioning has left our stables today to go to Highclere Stud.
“She retires an undefeated Group 1 and Group 2 winner.
“She showed extraordinary speed and displayed a very determined and competitive mental attitude in her training and racing.”
Jake Warren, manager to Bahraini owners Isa Salman and Abdulla Al Khalifa, said: “It’s obviously a great shame that Commissioning has had to retire from racing.
“She was the first ever owned, bred and raced Bahraini Group 1 winner and the owners still have the mother and a half-sister.
“They will undoubtedly be looking at how to move forward.
“She’s only a three-year-old and whether they breed from her this season or wait for her to furnish further as a four-year-old is yet to be determined.
“A breeding prospect with a CV such as hers is a very desirable asset to any broodmare band.”
Dettori recently hinted his retirement could extend beyond his intended farewell at the Breeders’ Cup in November.
The Italian, 52, suggested a ride in the Melbourne Cup could be on the cards on November 7.
