And many fans found it hilarious.
One person tweeted: “Boehly worked out how to ‘Double Revenues’ by single-handedly buying out the Club Shop.”
Another added: “Someone’s found the club shop!”
A third said: “Suits the club because he looks like a clown.”
While a fourth joked: “This is a bit like that episode of Friends where Joey dresses entirely in Porsche clothing… except he actually owns the club.”
Chelsea extended their winless run to six games following the defeat.
It was a bad day on all fronts for the Blues, with star defender Thiago Silva forced off in the opening stages with a knee injury.
Hakim Ziyech was then shown a red card after lashing out at Emerson Royal, however it was rescinded just a few minutes later.

Spurs midfielder Oliver Skipp broke the deadlock just after half time with a fantastic strike.
And, just as Graham Potter looked to make some changes to his attack, Harry Kane sealed all three points with a close-range effort.
After the game, the Chelsea boss took full responsibility for the club’s poor run of form.
He told Sky Sports: “I know the responsibility. It’s not good enough for this club and so I take full responsibility for those results. It isn’t good enough for Chelsea.
“The players gave it everything, they are hurting. It’s my responsibility.”
