The Weeknd and Ariana Grande Team Up Once Again For “Die For You (Remix)”

Friends and longtime collaborators The Weeknd and Ariana Grande have once again teamed up to match musical wits on their latest track together, the “Dawn FM” singer’s highly anticipated “Die For You (Remix).” The two stars dropped their collaboration on Feb. 24, arriving over a year after The Weeknd dropped the official music video for the hit song off his 2016 “Starboy” album. “Die For You” has seen a sudden resurgence in the last year and a half, so it’s only right that Grande helps breathe new life into it to keep the momentum going.

Almost halfway through the track, the “Thank U, Next” artist comes on to deliver her verse, softly singing, “I’m findin’ ways to stay concentrated on what I gotta do / But, baby boy, it’s so hard ’round you / And yes, I’m blamin’ you / And you know I can’t fake it, now or never / And you insinuatin’ that you think we might be better/ Better me and you / Yeah, I know you do.”

She then joins The Weeknd on the song’s infectious chorus to sing, “Even though we’re goin’ through it / And it makes you (Me) feel alone / Just know that I would die for you (I would die for you) / Baby, I would die for you, yeah.”

Grande, who’s currently filming the long-awaited “Wicked” movie, teased the pair’s new song together two days before its release, sharing in a TikTok video, “Wrote and recorded a verse for my friend after a 14-hour day on set.”

This is, of course, not the first time The Weeknd and Grande have shared musical space together. They joined forces in 2014 for “Love Me Harder,” followed by 2020’s “Off the Table” and 2021’s “Save Your Tears (Remix).” The two singers also performed their first collaboration on “Saturday Night Live” in 2014 and reunited on stage years later at the 2021 iHeartRadio Music Awards.
