Ashley Graham was one of the many stars to bring energy to Etro’s Fall 2023 runway show at Milan Fashion Week on Wednesday, Feb. 22. Sitting in the front row alongside “The White Lotus“‘s Haley Lu Richardson and fellow model Taylor Hill, 35-year-old Graham was channeling her inner Fanta girl in a bright orange ensemble, put together by her stylist Emily Evans.
The look consisted of a retro, ’70s-inspired micro miniskirt and matching mock-neck crop top. Before the show, Graham also showed off a coordinating bucket hat on her Instagram Stories. She allowed a vivid fur coat to hang off her shoulders, baring sight of its inner silk lining with a paisley pattern that is a brand signature. Graham accessorized with towering velvet platforms in an olive shade and a Love Trotter bag in yellow jacquard. Her ears were decorated with plenty of shimmering hoops and studs, including a few from jeweler Rainbow K. Graham’s makeup artist Chynara Kojoeva swiped on a sharp, fiery cat eye with a flash of orange at the inner eye, along with a lined caramel lip. Mashal Afzalzada created a half-up hairstyle with a curved side bang, bouncy high ponytail, and flipped ends.
Graham’s outfit was somewhat reflective of the Etro runway, where creative director Marco de Vincenzo unveiled his collection rooted in ’70s bohemia. As is usual of the fashion house, there was plenty of bold print mixing at play, as well as lightweight, floor-sweeping chiffon maxis that felt edgy and romantic all at once. Oversize flannels and blazers lent a touch of grunge, while thoughtful, delicate details such as ruffled trims and 3D crochet florets provided texture and movement. The lineup was styled by Gabriella Karefa-Johnson, who made a case for blanket dressing by artfully draping plaid and striped wraps over the shoulders of many models. The effect was not to take away from the top half of a look, but rather to suggest the many colorful layers it comprised.
Graham herself was also in attendance at Marc Jacobs’s show, which kicked off New York Fashion Week on Feb. 2. The star wore towering 8.5-inch heels and a blue sweater as a dress. A few days later, she was spotted in Malibu on set of a swimwear photo shoot, though she quickly returned to support more of her friends in the industry, including Aurora James, Heron Preston, and Tory Burch, eventually heading to London Fashion Week, and then to Milan.
