Getting candid. Kylie Jenner has shed some light on adjusting to motherhood after expanding her family with Travis Scott.
The reality star first became a mom when she and Scott welcomed daughter Stormi in February 2018.
“I’m sorry for keeping you in the dark through all the assumptions,” she wrote via Instagram at the time, referring to her decision to keep the news under wraps. “I understand you’re used to me bringing you along on all my journeys. My pregnancy was one I chose not to do in front of the world. I knew for myself I needed to prepare for this role of a lifetime in the most positive, stress free and healthy way I knew how. There was no gotcha moment, no big paid reveal I had planned. I knew my baby would feel every stress and every emotion, so I chose to do it this way for my little life and our happiness.”
Jenner offered her fans a bigger glimpse at her pregnancy the second time around. After giving birth to a baby boy in February 2022, the Hulu personality revealed she was struggling with her mental health.
“I realized that I was putting some pressure on myself, and I just keep reminding myself I made a whole human, a beautiful healthy boy,” she wrote via Instagram in March 2022. “We have to stop putting pressure on ourselves to be back, not even physically just mentally, after birth.”
The Kylie Skin founder also gushed about how much stronger her bond with her eldest has been.
“I learned a lot from my mom and the importance of family. It is the same for all of us — it is all about family. So, we just have a really close relationship,” she explained during an October 2022 episode of The Kardashians. “I never force my daughter to do anything. I always give her the option. She’s not leaving her mommy and she gets it. She loves to come with me everywhere.”
After Us Weekly broke the news in January 2023 about Jenner and Scott’s split, the beauty mogul discussed the ups and downs of motherhood.
“Finding myself in the hospital alone with a new and unknown creature in my arms [has been my favorite part],” she told Vanity Fair Italy in February 2023. “It’s such a unique and special situation and it’s all about building with these little beings that you’re learning about. There is another magical moment, though: when you bring your children home. It is perhaps the most beautiful moment.”
The California native opened up about her experience with postpartum depression as well, saying, “I know, in those moments you think it will never go away, that your body will never go back to what it was before, that you will never be the same. That’s not true: hormones, emotions at that stage are much, much more powerful and bigger than you. My advice is to live that transition, without fear of the aftermath. The risk, then, is also to lose all the most beautiful things of motherhood.”
