I’m furious after buying chicken from Morrisons that ‘weighs HALF as much as it says on packet’ – I feel ripped off

A MUM is furious after her chicken from Morrisons weighed “less than half” of what it said on the packet.

Susan, 41, from Edinburgh, picked up a pack of chicken slices and chicken breast during her weekly shop.

The mum, who relies on accurate food weights for her diet, has said she’s been left feeling cheated.

As well as her own needs, her son is a successful boxer who also needs to weigh every meal.

When she returned home from her local store she started meal prepping.

She quickly realised the chicken slices and breasts were a lot lighter than expected.

The 200g pack of chicken slices weighed only 92g and her 1kg chicken was 884g.

She told EdinburghLive: “Every time I buy food I have to measure it as I am on a diet and my son is a boxer.

“It is absolutely crazy.

“I will not be shopping at Morrisons anymore due to this.”

Susan said as a customer she should be getting what she paid for and will never return to the supermarket chain.

A spokesperson for Morrisons said: “We take complaints such as these seriously and can confirm we’re in touch with the customer to investigate this further.”

Rules for food weights

According to the Government website, solid food should be labelled with a gram unit or kilogram unit.

The packaged food should then contain the quantity displayed as a minimum.

And the packages can contain more than the label says – but not less.
