Watch the throne! Blue Ivy Carter came to slay at the 2023 Super Bowl, arriving at the event looking all grown up and instructing dad Jay-Z on how to take the perfect shot.
Blue Ivy, 11, accompanied her dad, 53, to the big game on Sunday, February 12, arriving at the Glendale, Arizona’s State Farm Stadium in a color-coordinated fit that matched the rapper’s. Beyoncé and Jay-Z’s eldest rocked an all-black ensemble made up of a grayscale Tupac graphic tee, an oversized zip-up hoodie and baggy pants. She paired the outfit with a backwards hat, opaque sunnies and red and white Nike sneakers for a pop of color. The “99 Problems” artist, for his part, sported matching sunglasses, similar pants and represented Roc Nation in a hoodie from his brand.
Jay-Z — who also shares 5-year-old twins Rumi and Sir with Beyoncé, 41 — followed Blue Ivy’s lead on Sunday as he snapped photo after photo of his daughter on his phone as she made sure the pictures came out OK.
In a video that has since gone viral, Blue Ivy posed on the field as Jay-Z kneeled down to capture her full ensemble in the images. After the proud dad took several photos, Blue glanced at the pictures for approval, asking her dad if the images were live before posing some more.
The father-daughter duo were on hand at Super Bowl LVII to watch the Kansas City Chiefs defeat the Philadelphia Eagles 38-35 and to see Rihanna, Jay-Z’s longtime protege, kill it at the halftime show.
Not only did the “Diamonds” singer, 35, stun the crowd with her showstopping performance on Sunday, but she also sported a baby bump underneath her cherry-red ensemble. Us Weekly confirmed the “Umbrella” artist is expecting her second child with boyfriend ASAP Rocky just months after the couple welcomed their first-born, a baby boy whose name they have yet to reveal, in spring 2022.
One year before Blue Ivy’s appearance at the 2023 Super Bowl, her grandmother Tina Knowles paid tribute to her eldest granddaughter on her 10th birthday in January 2022, revealing a slice of the preteen’s personality.
“Blue is my little Capricorn Twin. I prayed for her to be born on my birthday, but she did what she always does. She came when she got good and ready,” Beyoncé’s mom, 69, wrote via Instagram at the time, alongside a shot of her and Blue Ivy. “Three days later, but we still share the bond. She reminds me that, ‘Grandma you are acting just like a Capricorn.’ Blue gives the best advice like a grown person I sometimes forget that she is so young!! Blue is one of those rare, gifted people that can do everything well! God Blessed me the day you were born!”
