A MAN who lives in a lorry says he saves £20k a year on bills and gets to travel the world while getting paid.
Adam Mctasney, 35, from Bradford, ditched the army and his house to live out of his 40-tonne truck.

Adam claims to have saved a fortune on bills and has got to travel around the continent in his large vehicle.
The trucker had never been abroad before the age of 31, but he has now travelled to nearly every country in Western and Eastern Europe.
Adam, who works for Caffrey International, owns a house in Bradford but currently rents out the property because he travels around every day.
He uses services hotels to shower or stay sometimes, as well as the Welcome Break for food, drink, and a place to use the loo.
Adam is a popular figure on social media having decided to share his journey from the army to working on the road during Covid.
The dad-of-one has racked up over 500,000 followers after going viral and says he often gets recognised out and about.
While his lifestyle is far from regular, the Adam says he saves a fortune and “loves it”.
He told Yorkshire Live: “People don’t realise there are a lot of perks to truck driving. I saved over £20,000 last year as I don’t have to pay gas, electric bills, or for a TV licence.
“I get most of my food for free thanks to vouchers and get my petrol paid back.
“People think that they have to buy a house to achieve something but I want to show that I work and live in my truck and I have achieved so much.”
“I got a lot out of joining the army – most of my qualifications I did there, and I was able to do my truck training too.”
Adam says that after he gained his licence in the Royal Logistics Corps in 2004 his “life changed”.
He continued: “I would never have been able to do all things I have with lorry driving.”
“I always loved lorries when I was younger but even after I did the training I never thought I’d get this job.
“My first trip around Europe was scary – it is a lot of responsibility put on your shoulders – but my confidence soon grew. Now it is my whole life.”
‘INSPIRED’
Adam now says he is on a mission to change how people view lorry drivers.
He added: “The driver lifestyle is often perceived as overweight men who sit down all day and eat junk food.
“People don’t realise there are so many benefits to the job. But the problem is when you get to the services, most of the options are fast food – I rely on these places.”
Adam says he often uses his Instagram success to show how you can be a lorry driver but still eat healthily.
Later this year the dad will be partnering with a gym to create a plan for people in the profession.
Adam said he wants to showcase the positive side to his job, after saying that sharing his journey has inspired others to become lorry drivers.
He added: “A lot of people have told me they have been inspired to get license after seeing what I’ve been doing.
“It is such a good feeling to see and I want young people to see that if you invest in yourself, through training, you can achieve so much.
“I was a nobody before this job. You don’t need to have a house to be able to make something of yourself.”
It comes after a couple cut their soaring bills by emptying their home and moving into a seven-tonne lorry.
While another couple claim they have saved over £1k a month after escaping their “rent trap” house.
