Burger van man rebrands as ‘Two Guys’ after Five Guys chain opens opposite

A BURGER van man bit back when a Five Guys restaurant opened opposite — by opening as Two Guys.

Mehmet Cecen, 30, had been feeding punters on the same spot for three years before the US chain set up nearby.

So he bought a £10,000 van he saw online as it already featured a red and white chequered design like the burger giant and was emblazoned with the words “Two Guys”.

He parked it next to his existing burger business and will start using it next month in the busy fast-food hot spot in Cardiff.

Mehmet, who claims he works as hard as two guys, said: “I’ve had a burger van here for years but then I saw that a Five Guys was going to open opposite and thought I needed to do something.

“I’m already out here competing with the big boys.”

He said of his van, which he has kitted out to run on green energy: “It’s already been worth the money because I’ve had people pulling in to have a look before buying food from my other van.”

He’s not worried about a lawsuit, saying: “I’d just change it to Two Guys on Wheels.”
