Yesterday, the UK’s biggest grocer snapped up the rights to the stationery chain’s brand after it collapsed into administration.

Senior sources at the supermarket have said Tesco is still looking for ways to fill spaces in bigger stores after its decision to stop selling electronics last year.
The move was a massive change by the supermarket as it axed electrical aisles in favour of stocking more popular homeware ranges such as Mrs Hinch and Fox & Ivy.
Tesco now plans to sell Paperchase branded notebooks and stationery accessories, alongside other in-store brands.
It particularly wants to focus on ranges that are exciting for customers, giving them another reason to go into stores.
Administrators were called in yesterday after failing to find a buyer for the brand.
The Sun revealed today that Paperchase shops could disappear off the high street within weeks, with the closure of 106 shops, according to sources.
It’s understood that administrators are now working to liquidate the business, putting 1,000 jobs at risk.
Shoppers with gift cards are being urged to redeem them as soon as possible as they won’t be accepted after two weeks.
The company opened its first store in 1968 in Kensington, London.
In 2010, it launched its website and its first standalone store in Ireland in Dundrum, Dublin, in 2020.
It’s not the first time that the chain has been in trouble. In 2021 the company fell into administration but was sold weeks later.
