The best airport Wetherspoons in the UK ranked and no.1 ISN’T Heathrow

A PRE-FLIGHT pint is a ritual for many Brits who have an early morning plane to catch.

And one of the most popular places to grab a beer is at a Wetherspoons – which most UK airports have.

Many of the airport Wetherspoons open as early as 3am or 4am so you can get in a morning pint before the first flight of the day.

However some stand out more than others – here are the top five airport Wetherspoons ranked according to Dealchecker.

 1. The Windmill, London Stansted

London Stansted’s Wetherspoons was voted the “best airport bar” in 2015 and remains the highest ranked of them all in the UK.

The pub opened more than 20 years at Stansted, although moved locations within the airport in 2015.

With an average Google rating of 3.9 (across more than 1,200 reviews) many have calling it “unbelievable”.

Not everyone was sold – some were sad it “wasn’t a windmill”.

2. The Crown Rivers, London Heathrow

London Heathrow’s The Crown Rivers is certainly one of the prettiest with fake trees decorating the interior.

It’s found in Heathrow’s Terminal 5, it is the only Wetherspoons at the London airport.

Also getting a Google rating of 3.9 across 1,100 reviews, many praised it for “quick service” and “friendly staff”.

Expect it to be crowded, seeing as it is located in the busiest UK airport.
