The driver has three long planks of wood as well as other items hanging off the back.
As the truck goes underneath a gantry holding road signs the planks of wood hit the metal structure which sends a loose bucket and other items flying into the air and landing on the road.
The driver of the truck was hit with a £100 fine and three penalty points on their licence for insecurely loading an item to their vehicle.
The clip was one of a montage of examples featuring dangerous driving released by Devon and Cornwall Police which were caught on camera and sent in by members of the public.
The footage highlights near misses, dodgy overtaking, overloaded lorries and drivers ignoring red lights.
In another example, a tyre is shown coming loose from a tractor which is towing a trailer on a carriageway near Exeter.
At first, the tyre appears to be loosely attached by some straps to the back of the trailer.
It then shows the large rubber ring starting to bounce up and down as the vehicle increases its speed before it finally comes loose from the straps and falls in the way of the vehicles behind it.
The driver got a £100 fine and three penalty points for having an unsecure load and potentially endangering someone.
In another clip, a small white vehicle is seen dangerously overtaking traffic on a narrow country lane on the A386 in the village of Mary Tavy, near Tavistock.
The driver who recorded the hair-raising incident on their dashcam, slams on their brakes as the other car, which is on their side of the road, frantically swerves back to the other lane.
Fortunately, a collision was avoided and it appears there was no damage done.
The motorist who performed the dangerous overtaking was given a sizeable £574 fine along with five penalty points for careless and inconsiderate driving.
Another clip highlighting dangerous driving shows a black vehicle going down a wrong lane and then running a red light in Plympton, a suburb of Plymouth.
The car’s driver manages to narrowly avoid oncoming traffic from the other side of the road.
The motorist was slapped with a £1,176 fine as well as six penalty points for careless and inconsiderate driving.
In the final clip, the cops give an example of a vehicle driving too close to cyclists.
The footage, filmed from the rear of the cyclist’s bike, shows a grey car passing them extremely closely.
The short clip was filmed around Downhead.
The driver did not have to pay a fine but had to attend a driver training course.
