“Daisy Jones & The Six” Promises Music, Parties, and Heartbreak in the New Trailer

What a time to be a fan of “Daisy Jones & The Six”! The first trailer for the new series is finally here. In the footage, released Jan. 25, fans can hear one of the band’s songs, “Regret Me,” for the first time. It also includes snippets from the fictional band’s wild life on the road, the drama they experience behind the scenes, and fictional interviews with them about their time as the hottest rock band in the world. “I said that I would tell you everything. But how much of everything do you really wanna know?” the titular Daisy Jones (played by Riley Keough) asks. The trailer shows off the highs, lows, and deep secrets of making a legendary band and album.

The series, which is based on Taylor Jenkins Reid’s bestselling novel of the same name, follows a fictional rock band through their rise to fame and inevitable breakup in the 1970s. The book, which is written as a fake oral history, takes readers on a “Behind the Music”-style trip down memory lane and is a must-read for music fans. Way back in 2018, Reese Witherspoon‘s production company, Hello Sunshine, acquired the rights to the novel before it had even hit shelves, so the series has been in the works for a long time.

If “Daisy Jones & The Six” fans are worried about the quality of the upcoming adaptation, you can first take comfort knowing Witherspoon’s Hello Sunshine is responsible for several highly acclaimed book-to-TV adaptations, like HBO’s “Big Little Lies,” Hulu’s “Little Fires Everywhere,” and Netflix’s “From Scratch.” On the movie front, Hello Sunshine produced “Where the Crawdads Sing.”
