THOUSANDS of households who suffered water outages due to burst pipes are set for a £35 payment.
Some 4,000 homes in Ceredigion, Wales, were impacted by the issues in the run up to Christmas.

Some families were left without a water supply for six days.
But those impacted will now receive compensation, the county’s MP has confirmed.
MP Ben Lake said following a meeting last week, Welsh Water, responsible for the network in Ceredigion, confirmed customers who suffered outages will receive discounts off their water bills.
Households whose supply was cut off for more than 12 hours will be paid £35.
Further £35 payments will be made for every subsequent 12-hour period where water was unavailable.
That means if you were without water for six days you could get £420.
The payments will be made automatically into eligible households’ bank accounts in the coming days.
Business customers who lost out due to the water supply issues will receive payments too.
A Welsh Water spokesperson apologised for the outage, which was caused by sub-zero temperatures followed by warmer weather creating water pipes to thaw and burst.
They said: “Such disruption and inconvenience is rare, and our teams worked tirelessly to restore supplies as quickly as possible.”
They added: “We again would like to say how sorry we are for the inconvenience that was caused and hope our goodwill payments reflects this to our customers.”
The households in Ceredigion aren’t the only ones in line for a payment following water supply issues.
Thousands more will see their water bills slashed between April 6 and April 5, 2024.
It comes after water regulator Ofwat found 11 suppliers had “fallen short” of standards.
Plus, hundreds of thousands of households in Cornwall will get a £30 bill credit after they were called in to help conserve supplies at a local reservoir.
