WHATSAPP is plotting a whole load of changes to the app – and they’ll affect billions of users.
The Meta-owned chat app is constantly being upgraded, and there are some big tweaks on the way.

WhatsApp tests new features before rolling them out – and this happens in the “beta” app.
The WhatsApp investigators at WABetaInfo have checked out the app to uncover the best changes in the pipeline.
For instance, it’ll soon be possible to share voice notes as status updates.
And several of the changes have already dropped on the general release version of WhatsApp – the one used by billions of people around the world.

Here are some of the changes…
The ability to search for messages by date (live now)Drag and drop media to WhatsApp from other apps (live now)Block users within the chat list (in beta)Share voice notes via status updates (in beta)Transfer chat history between Android devices (under development)Send photos with their original quality (under development)
Some of the features are live right now.
The changes in beta are likely to land on the general release version of WhatsApp much sooner.
But it’s impossible to say when any of them will land.
It could take days, weeks or even months for WhatsApp to roll them out.

How to get WhatsApp beta
To download WhatsApp beta for your smartphone you need to go to Google Play on your Android and search for WhatsApp.
Scroll down the page until you see “Become a Beta Tester”.
Tap the “I’m In” button and then click “Join” to confirm.
Now all you have to do is wait for the update to the beta version of the app.
Joining the WhatsApp beta on iOS is more difficult, and has limited capacity.
