UFC legend Glover Teixeira shows off heavily-bandaged face from hospital after bloody and brutal loss to Jamahal Hill

GLOVER TEIXEIRA took an almighty beating during his brutal loss against Jamahal Hill at UFC 283.

A picture shared online showed off Teixeira’s heavily-bandaged and swollen face following a visit to the hospital.

The brutal clash saw both fighters hospitalised, though former champ Teixeira took the worst of the beatings.

Teixeira lost the title bout against Hill via unanimous decision.

Taking to Instagram on Sunday, manager Jorge Guimaraes shared a photo of Teixeira from hospital.

He posted a touching tribute in the caption of his post, saying: “Couldn’t be more proud of this man @gloverteixeira.

“A true warrior and the best person on earth! The world needs more people like you.”

Following the fight, Brazilian Teixeira announced his retirement from the sport at the age of 43, leaving his gloves behind in the ring.

Following the fight, he said: “I’m too tough for my own good, my own health, it is an honour to put the gloves down on the same night as (Mauricio) Shogun.”

Guimaraes added: “‘The warrior doesn’t bleed, it overflows with honour’ Glover, you are a cousin for excellence and are an inspiration to all! I love you! ”

It was an historic night for the light heavyweight division, with Hill the first athlete to become champion after earning a UFC contract through president Dana White‘s Contender Series.

However, Hill’s victory did not go down well with the Rio De Janeiro crowd as they threw missiles into the Octagon.
