Passenger left stunned after boarding flight only for it to be completely empty – and is ‘treated like a VIP’

A MAN was left stunned to board his flight – only to find the plane completely empty.

Passenger Robbie Allen was travelling from Sydney to Fiji with Virgin when he realised he would be the only passenger on the plane.

A passenger was stunned after he boarded his flight – and he was the only one onboard

Robbie said he was treated like a VIP with unlimited prosecco and snacks

Also known as ghost flights, it can often happen when a plane needs to reroute to another destination even if there are no passengers onboard, and the airline needs to keep the scheduled route.

Robbie shared the experience, which took place last January, on his TikTok account.

He explained: “I was literally the only person on the whole plane.

“The captain came and sat next to me and talked to me. The staff just gave me whatever I wanted.”

He joked that he was on his own “private jet” and showed the completely empty cabin.

He added: “I have the whole plane for myself – it’s for my birthday, I’m the VIP.”

He said it was “wild” and the flight attendant gave him “whatever he wanted” with the video showing him getting free prosecco and whole bowl snacks.

In the caption, he added: “It was creepy at first but then amazing, just wish I hadn’t already paid for business class.”

Robbie said: “It was just such a strange and weird experience, something I will never forget.”

He ended the video by laughing as he showed his luggage at the carousel by itself, seeing as he was the only one there.

The video has been watched more than 950k times on the social media platform.

People on TikTok loved the video, with someone saying: “This is literally an introvert’s dream.”

Another said: “This is literally the best thing ever.”

Some didn’t like the idea – one said: “I would be freaking out at the empty gate thinking I had the wrong gate.”

Another said: “That would have felt awkward but cool at the same time.”

Robbie isn’t the only passenger that has experienced an empty flight.

Last year, Jet2 passenger Jak Scott was travelling from Edinburgh to Greece when he was told his flight would be nearly empty, despite only paying £59 for his ticket.

And another couple booked an easyJet flight to Greece only to realise they were the only ones onboard.

They joked “welcome to our private jet” and even got their separate announcements from the pilot as well as being allowed to sit in whichever seat they wanted.
