East Coast winter storm expected to bring impacts to I-95 corridor this weekend into early next week

The next major storm system will likely impact southern and eastern parts of the U.S. from this weekend into early next week, and the threat of heavy snow is increasing for some portions of the Northeast.

HOW TO WATCH FOX WEATHER

While the various computer forecast models differ on the exact impacts from the storm, heavy rain is expected for some and accumulating snow is likely for others.

It is possible that parts of the interior Northeast could see a significant snowstorm, the FOX Forecast Center said.

WHICH IS THE SNOWIEST MONTH OF THE YEAR?

The exact track of the low-pressure system will be key in determining where the rain/snow line sets up.

If the storm track shifts to the east, the threat of snow would extend farther south and eastward and potentially place some cities along Interstate 95 at risk for accumulating snowfall, though the odds of this scenario are low.

Regardless, this storm will still bring impacts to the I-95 corridor, likely in the form of heavy rain and wet roadways.
