I’m so fed up with dangerous drivers I’ve made my own SIGN – no one else would step up to help

A FUMING motorist became so sick of dangerous drivers that they made their own sign to deal with the problem.

Confusion following the introduction of a third lane on the Stoneferry Roundabout in Hull, Yorkshire, has led to reports of several near misses.

A frustrated motorist has put up the sign in a bid to prevent collisions on the re-designed roundabout

The peril prompted one fed-up driver to put up a sign showing others how to approach and exit the roundabout properly.

The sign, written on white card in thick blue marker, uses arrows to show in which direction traffic from each lane is allowed to exit.

It is bordered by black and yellow stripes, usually used to signal danger, and bears the message: “Exit in [your] own lane.”

In November last year, a petition was launched to try and get the local council to deal with the issues, but now motorists appear to be taking matters into their own hands.

Footage from September captured the moment where two cars almost collided while exiting the roundabout.

Video from a dashcam showed a blue car cutting across another vehicle as the both turned off onto a main road.

Drivers have been warning about the issues since the road layout was remodelled last year, with one saying: “I’m sick to death of nearly been wiped out by idiots on the road that don’t understand the new road layout at B&Q roundabout.”

Another added: “It’s just absolute chaos there 24/7 since the changes.

“So many like to come straight on to the roundabout without looking and nearly clean me out.”

Some online commenters, though, were far from sympathetic to car owners and claimed that the issue was driver incompetence rather than the complexity of the road layout.

One wrote: “It’s really not that hard to understand at all. I understood it from day one.

“The lane markings are as clear as day, just shows how many people drive obliviously without a care in the world and take no notice.”

However, another disagreed, saying: “I have been driving 40 years all over the world and have to agree it’s pathetic the roundabout is very very confusing and dangerous.”

The third lane was part of a multi-million pound scheme, which also saw over 20 traffic lights installed to ease congestion and calm traffic.
