As Love Island stars head into the villa – dentist reveals the tweaks most contestants go for & it’s not what you think

LOVE ISLAND returns to our screens tonight with contestants having likely prepared for the show for months.

Previous hopefuls looking to find love have had various treatments before entering the villa.

Jack Fincham’s appearance famously resulted in a spike in search for ‘Turkey-teeth’, when he showcased his pearly white veneers.

Ekin-Su Cülcüloglu was also reported to have had new boobs and teeth for the show.

Veneers have been a popular choice for stars, with many having had their teeth filed down, before then having tooth-coloured shells attached to the surface to improve their appearance.

They are often gleaming white and made from porcelain to help prevent staining.

As more stars are set to grace our screens, one dentist said that this might not actually be the most common procedure they are opting for.

Dr Khaled Kasem, Chief Orthodontist at Impress said there are two main treatments they will likely have chosen.

The first, he said is straightening, which due to advances in technology, now means it can be done discreetly.

“Straightening your teeth has never been easier, with the introduction of invisible orthodontics.

“The days of hard wire metal braces being the only available treatment are long gone, and dental patients (or aspiring reality TV contestants) are now able to receive straightening treatments discreetly with minimal impact on their daily life.

“Clear aligners can be worn out and about and easily removed to clean, making them perfect for those looking for that bombshell smile without the hassle of fixed braces.

“Specially designed and a perfect fit for your mouth, they’re comfortable to wear all day- whether you’re going for a chat or cracking on.”

Dr Kasem added that appointments via online apps and new aligners arriving in the post make the process even more streamlined and convenient for customers.

SPARKLING

It wouldn’t be Love Island if contestants didn’t have super bright smiles.

And Dr Kasem said the second option most of the Islanders opt for is whitening.

“The process of whitening your teeth is a simple one and the results will leave you looking like everyones type on paper.

“Your dentist will first coat your teeth in a whitening solution, before shining a laser onto the tooth surface area to activate the whitening agent.

“Steering away from foods that may stain your teeth for 48 hours afterwards is important, which means no coffee or red wine.

“This small sacrifice will ensure the teeth whitening works effectively, and your smile stays brighter for longer.”

He added that this is a simple, non-invasive process that takes little time to achieve.

“Perfect for busy millennials looking to turn some heads,” he added.
