Arsenal transfer target Mykhailo Mudryk hugs team-mates with winger still on Shakhtar mid-winter tour as talks continue

ARSENAL target Mykhalio Mudryk was seen hugging a team-mate as he continues to train with his Shakhtar despite his ongoing transfer saga.

The Ukraine international is currently in the middle of a tussle between London rivals Arsenal and Chelsea.

But in the mean time, Mudryk is in Turkey with the rest of the squad for their mid-season training camp.

Shakhtar don’t play again until they face Rennes in the Europa League 16 February.

And they’ll be hoping the 22-year-old will be able to feature in the play-off tie.

But he was recently spotted talking to chief Darijo Srna and it’s unclear whether he’ll still be at the club by the end of the month.

However, he looked at home when he was snapped by the club’s social teams.

Mudryk was seen working hard in the gym and then hugging one of his team-mates as he keeps up his fitness levels.

And that could be much sooner than the middle of February if he seals a switch to the Prem.

But Arsenal will need to increase their next bid with their opening two offers both rejected by Shakhtar.

The Ukraine giants are instead said to be holding out for around £88m.

Regardless, the Premier League leaders are believed to be closing in on his services, which would be a huge boost in their title bid.

The Gunners find themselves in a healthy position heading into Sunday’s north London derby.

But Mikel Arteta remains desperately short in attack beyond his starting trio.

Emile Smith Rowe made his comeback at Oxford on Monday, but Gabriel Jesus remains sidelined, leaving Arsenal with no genuine option off the bench heading into some key games.

Whereas Mudryk would provide stiff competition in the attacking areas.

He’s registered 18 goal contributions in 18 games this season and particularly shone in the Champions League.
