FUMING residents have blasted their council after double-yellow lines were painted outside their homes.
Locals in Oakhill, Stoke-on-Trent, claim that they can’t park their cars anywhere thanks to the “bungling” council.

The council extended the lines in a section to try and stop parents and children from parking there as they arrive at two schools.
But furious homeowners claim parents are still parking there with no traffic wardens patrolling at drop-off or pick-up times.
Stoke-on-Trent City Council have extended the existing double-yellow lines to include a further section of Keelings Drive.
The double-yellow lines near Oakhill Primary School and St Joseph’s College became enforceable on January 9.
Diane Cambridge, 53, is one resident furious about the line and claims her builder husband Chris has already received six parking tickets.
The NHS community worker, said: “It’s ridiculous I can’t park outside my house anymore.
“The council are acting like tin pot dictators. We have complained but they’ve have taken no notice.
“I’m not allowed to park outside my own house but parents are parking on the pavements and not getting fined.
“My friends and family can’t visit me because they now have nowhere to park.”
Diane says that the parking restrictions are not even well monitored, making them useless.
“We would quite gladly pay for parking bays but they just don’t want to know.
“My husband Chris has to park his work van there. He’s had six parking tickets so far and they even put one behind the other.
“But the parking enforcement officers don’t come during school hours.
“They are not clamping down on the parents or students who park here.
She added: “We are devastated and it has taken a real toll on us.
“But the council just don’t want to see sense.
“I have lived here for 30 years and these are the first parking restrictions. But they need to go.”
‘DISGUSTING’
Retired plasterer Thomas Cadman, 86, said: “It’s just crazy how they just put them up.
“They have been a bit slimy about it as they just suddenly put it up.”
While his wife Margaret, 82, said: “It’s disgusting what’s happened.
“They haven’t acted fairly and I don’t see what difference it will make.
“Parents will still park on them to be near the school.”
The grandmother-of-three, who worked as a cup handler in a pottery factory, added: “It seems very spiteful to suddenly put them outside our homes.
“It gets very busy in the mornings and afternoons but other times it is fine.”
“Nothing will change, parents will park where they want or block people’s drives.”
Tony Hughes, 43
Local resident Tony Hughes, 43, said: “It is a bit of a rat run.
“But the new double lines do seem too over the top.
“Nothing will change – parents will park where they want or block people’s drives.”
A council spokesman said: “We consulted on proposals to extend yellow lines at this location. No objections were received.”
It comes as neighbours complained their lives are being made hell by “selfish” parents trapping them in their homes with bad parking.
Those living on the street claim to have suffered abuse by parents picking up kids from the nearby school.
Meanwhile another council was slammed by neighbours for their “lazy work” resurfacing the streets.
