Prime has become the first “viral drink” and is in ever-increasing demand in UK shops.
And on Facebook Marketplace, bottles are being offered for 10 times the original price tag.
One seller in Penarth, Wales, is selling Prime – Ice Pop and Meta Moon flavours – for £25 a bottle, with another in Swansea advertising it at £20 each.
Elsewhere, in Cardiff, bottles are being touted at £50 for four, while one vendor in Newport is listing it for £9 a bottle.
Prime has seen shoppers queuing for hours to nab the drinks containing mostly water added with vitamins and minerals, with few calories and no added sugar.
Advertised as a “hydration drink” it is also made up of coconut water but does not have any caffeine in it.
The drink is so hot among youngsters that desperate parents have travelled more than 500 miles just to get their hands on a bottle.
Supermarkets have even seen stampedes of customers and parents wrestling kids out of the way to get their hands on a bottle.
The drink sold out “in seconds” when it hit shelves in Aldi last week and had to be rationed to one of each flavour per customer.
One Aldi staff member told PlymouthLive that their store had sold 360 bottles in under six minutes.
Meanwhile, there was shocking footage of adults pushing young children out of the way at an Aldi in Sydenham, East London to try and get hold of just a few bottles.
It comes after news that a new version of the viral drink will soon be hitting our shore – but not without a catch.
Prime’s popularity grew after YouTube stars Logan Paul and KSI promoted the drink around high-profile celebrity boxing bouts in the UK.
The duo came up with the idea for coconut water-based Prime Hydration after their final boxing match in 2019.
During a live stream, the pair said they wanted to “rival the biggest companies on earth” with their products – including “Pepsi, Coke, Gatorade and Powerade”.
