Bulgaria has always proved itself as a bargain beach spot with low prices for breaks on its stunning Black Sea coastline.
Huge investment in recent years has seen the standard of accommodation go up even as prices go down compared to its Mediterranean neighbours.

But there are also some great value alternatives newer to the tourist scene worth considering.
Albania’s beautiful beaches rival its Italian and Greek neighbours with stunning Adriatic coastline for a fraction of the price.
With cocktails from £3 and delicious seafood pasta from just £5 – food in restaurants is around a third of the price of Italy or Greece.
And you won’t be compromising on the views – turquoise blue waters identical to near neighbours on Corfu or the Amalfi coast are fringed by sand and pebble beaches but are quieter and unspoilt.
If you fancy visiting, there are direct flights from London for as little as £35 with Wizz Air.
And while Croatia has become a holiday hotspot with Dubrovnik and the Dalmatian Riviera a huge hit – even more so after its starring role in the Game of Thrones saga – neighbouring Montenegro is proving a rival without the high prices.

Cheaper than Croatia, it’s a beach-lovers paradise with 117 beaches stretching 73km along its coastline.
