Jason Cummings brilliantly trolled by Olivier Giroud after claim France superstar ‘doesn’t speak English’

AC MILAN star Olivier Giroud has rubbed salt into the wounds of Australia World Cup international Jason Cummings in a hilarious slapdown.

After rubbing shoulders with legendary striker and his French team-mate Kylian Mbappe, Cummings admitted his quest for a superstar shirt-swap had been foiled.

But the Central Coast Mariners striker’s bid for a shirt was denied

The former Hibs and Rangers striker revealed his Socceroos strip was SENT BACK by the French squad with no-one interested in a memento from their World Cup opener in Qatar.

And Cummings also claimed ex-Arsenal striker Giroud also snubbed him in the tunnel with his bid for a French top lost in translation.

Laughing off the post-match disappointment Cummings told Australian TV show The Project: “I tried to get Mbappe – forget Giroud, I went for the top boy Mbappe – and he told me to meet him in the dressing rooms.

“I went to the changing room and the kit man was there and I gave him my top and 10 minutes later he came out with my jersey and says: “Nah, absolutely not, (Mbappe) doesn’t want to swap”.’

“So when I was walking back to my changing room and I’ve seen Giroud and I’m walking, as handsome as ever, and I asked him, “Giroud, please man, can I get your shirt, man? I’m a big fan, can I get your shirt?

“He just walked past me, pretended he never spoke English! And he’s been in the Premier League for 10 years! He just walked right past me!”

It seems though the former French World Cup winner has a different view, judging by his cheeky swipe online.

After Cummings’ interview aired, Giroud posted a picture of an Australian jersey on Twitter – belonging to ex-Celtic midfielder Jackson Irvine who he also played against in Qatar.

Hinting at the post-match swap and with a nod to Cummings’ claims he wrote: “Hi @jacksonirvine_ How is my English mate?”.

Several laughing emojis and the flags of each nation followed along with a picture of the front and back of the gold top.

Striker Giroud spent nine years in London after moving to the Gunners from Montpellier in 2012. He also played 75 times for Chelsea before a move to Serie A.

Cummings has become a cult hero in Australia after moving Down Under a year ago.

Speaking in Qatar the one-time Scotland international marvelled at his career turnaround in Oz – moving from the Dundee bench to facing superstars at the World Cup inside a year.

He was spotted in a post-match embrace with Lionel Messi after Australia were eliminated in the knock-out stages – but left fans in stithces with a hilarious pre-match pep talk for the World Cup winner ahead of Sunday’s final.

One player who WAS lucky enough to pick up the striker’s jersey – from his 1000th match, was Hearts midfielder Cammy Devlin.

He revealed he was so scared of losing the priceless memorabilia he gave the top to his DAD for safe keeping.
